A live album is released after each of the Sing! Getty Music Worship Conferences held in Nashville. The album from the 2025 conference, which had a theme of From Generation to Generation. Artists included on the album are Keith and Kristyn Getty, CityAlight, Fernando Ortega, Matt Boswell, Matt Papa, Cochren & Co, Sandra McCracken, Dwan Hill and the late Jubilant Sykes.
Sing! From Generation to Generation holds many of the finest musical moments from the 2025 Sing! Conference. Thousands of voices, young and old, were gathered from 27 countries celebrating God’s faithfulness across 20 centuries and teaching the coming generations through song.

Long, Long Road – Ringo Starr

Former Beatle Ringo Starr, now 85, first teamed up with Grammy Award winning producer T. Bone Burnett (O Brother Where Art Thou) for last year’s excellent album Look Up, a country/Americana album that gave Starr his best reviews in years. Long Long Road, Starr’s twenty-second studio album repeats the formula of Look Up, again produced by Burnett, who also wrote or co-wrote six songs on the ten-song album, and plays on a number of the songs. The result is a solid, well performed and produced album, with appealing songs that Starr handles with ease.
The album was recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles, and features some of the same core band members (Paul Franklin, David Mansfield, Dennis Crouch, Daniel Tashian, Rory Hoffman, Patrick Warren and Colin Linden) from the Look Up album. Burnette refers to them as The Texans, after the band Ringo played with in Liverpool. The album features guest appearances by Sheryl Crow, St. Vincent, Billy Strings, Molly Tuttle Molly Tuttle, who duets with Starr on three of the ten songs, and Sarah Jarosz.
In addition to Look Up, Starr has been connected with country music through his 1970 album Beaucoups of Blues, which was produced by Pete Drake, and Beatle recordings such as “What Goes On”, “Act Naturally” and “Don’t Pass Me By”.
Love is a primary theme on the album with most lyrics carrying Ringo’s well-known “peace and love” message.
Starr co-wrote three of the album’s ten songs, including “Choose Love,”, a duet with St. Vincent, on a remake of his 2005 song, which now includes some Sgt. Pepper like sound effects, “You and I (Wave of Love),” his duet sung with bluegrass artist Molly Tuttle, and the title song. The latter features Sheryl Crow on backing vocals, and Starr reflecting on the road he’s been on, including a spoken word section in the mid-section of the song.
“It’s Been Too Long,” featuring Sarah Jarosz and Molly Tuttle, was the first song released from the album. In my opinion, it’s the best song Starr has released in years.
“I Don’t See Me in Your Eyes Anymore” was recorded by Carl Perkins in 1959. The song fits Starr’s voice well. The Beatles covered three of Carl Perkins songs, with Ringo singing lead on two of them – “Honey Don’t” and “Matchbox”.
Long Long Road is a solid, well performed and produced album, with appealing songs that Starr handles with ease. The songs are easygoing. There is some excellent guitar playing and vocal harmonies. The songs are relatively short, with the ten-song album clocking in at just thirty-three minutes.

Absolution by Switchfoot
Switchfoot has long been a favorite band of mine. Their new album is Forever Now. “Absolution” is the second single from the album. The song was written by Jon Foreman and Tim Foreman. Watch the video for the song here.
