Alistair Begg has written two volumes of Truth for Life: 365 Daily Devotions. I have used these volumes the past two years as a part of my devotional reading. You can read my review of the book here (please link to the review in blog post 272). Here are 25 more of my favorite quotes from the book:

• Do not neglect your Bible. Ask God to work in you as you open it up to revive your soul, to make you wise, to bring you joy, and to light your path.
• God’s purpose for His people in every age is that we will depend upon Him entirely.
• Christ is the object of all our worship. He is the source of all our joy. He is the one who deserves all our obedience. He is the focus of all our praise. And we are accepted in Him.
• For it is when you realize you have nothing that you are in just the right position for Christ to be your everything:
• Prayer is simply too great a privilege for any Christian to ignore and too great a necessity for any of us to neglect.
• He answers all your prayers exactly when He knows it is right to and in precisely the manner that is always best for you.

• You can rest in the confidence that comes from knowing that God’s word and promises will never pass away, and that the darkest moments are often used by God to bring His greatest victories.
• For ultimately, a private faith that never reveals itself publicly is not a true and living faith at all. If our allegiance to King Jesus is real, it must be public.
• Be sure to prepare your heart and make your choice before you sit at your desk or stand in the factory, tempted to give yourself completely to your work. Pray in earnest, “Lord Jesus, I do not want to place my hope in career achievement or wealth accumulation. Lord Jesus, be my Savior and show me how to live today with You as my comfort and my source of contentment.” That is the way to work hard at your labors without worshiping them.
• The more aware we are of our sin, the more wonderful we will realize is the truth that there is not, and never will be, any ounce of divine condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
• Only when we get to the point in our own spiritual journeys where we can sincerely say, “If I die, I die,” can we go on living for God. The risk may be great, but the reward is infinitely greater.
• If you are facing circumstances that look hopeless, call out to God for help. Even though you may have to wait through your entire earthly pilgrimage,
• In the Bible, we find all that we need for life and godliness—and nothing we don’t.
• Take comfort in His mysterious providence, knowing that He will not allow anything to befall you which will not ultimately be used for your good and His glory.
• Because of our Lord Jesus Christ, we can cast our burdens, our fears, our failures, our expectations, and all our hopes and dreams upon our heavenly Father. No request is too great for Him.
• If God remembers yours sins no more, then surely there is no need for you to dwell upon past failures. They have been covered over by His grace. They do not define you and need not dominate you, either today or for eternity.
