There are a number of new and upcoming albums, in a variety of genres, that I would like to share with you that you may be interested in.

Abbey Road (Super Deluxe Edition – Beatles

Just as he did with Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and The Beatles (The White Album), Giles Martin, son of the long-time Beatles producer George Martin, has given us a remixed anniversary project on the 50th anniversary of the release of Abbey Road. The Super Deluxe Anniversary Edition includes a new mix of the original album, which was produced by George Martin, which includes the famous closing suite on side 2, John Lennon’s “Come Together” and two of George Harrison’s best songs – “Something” and “Here Comes the Sun”. In addition, this edition includes 23 outtakes and demos, which was what I was most excited about.

Alive & Breathing Vol. 1 and Alive & Breathing Vol. 2 (EPs) – Matt Maher

Matt Maher has recently released two, three-song Alive & Breathing EPs comprised of one new song each (“Run to the Father”, Vol. 1, and “Alive and Breathing”, Vol. 2), along with live versions of some of his songs (“Lord I Need  You”, “Because He Lives”), and versions of songs he has written but never recorded (“White Flag”, “Soul on Fire”).

Doom – Social Club Misfits

The latest project from the Social Club Misfits is a 6 song EP.

Behold the Lamb of God – Andrew Peterson

Andrew Peterson and friends have been performing a Behold the Lamb of God tour for 20 years. This is a brand-new recording of his now classic Christmas album. The album features some familiar voices and a few new ones, and is produced by Ben Shive.

The latest from the genius behind Creedence Clearwater Revival was recorded at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado on June 20, 2019. The album features 19 Creedence and Fogerty classics including “Proud Mary”, “Fortunate Son”, “Bad Moon Rising, “Centerfield”, “Suzie Q”. The album will be supported by the film John Fogerty – 50 Year Trip: Live at Red Rocks on Veteran’s Day in more than 500 theatres nationwide.

Three Cords & The Truth – Van Morrison

Van Morrison returns with his sixth album in the past four years. Three Cords & The Truth includes fourteen new songs, all of which Morrison wrote (co-writing “If We Wait for Mountains” with Don Black). The album is produced by Morrison and features a duet with The Righteous Brothers’ Bill Medley.

What’s My Name – Ringo Starr

Former Beatle Ringo Starr’s 20th studio album features Starr’s cover of “Grow Old With Me”, one of the last songs that John Lennon wrote. The song also features fellow Beatle Paul McCartney on bass and backing vocals.

Sing! An Irish Christmas – Keith and Kristyn Getty and Friends

This album was recorded live at the Grand Ole Opry House during the 2019 Sing! Getty Worship Conference (on one of the hottest days of the year in Nashville). The album is a collection of the best loved carols, ancient and modern, joining together the sounds of new and old-world folk music, with the Getty’s band of top Irish and American musicians, delivering an energetic and festive collection of Christmas hymns. The album features guests such as Matt Boswell, Pedro Eustache, Ellie Holcomb, Phil Keaggy,, Matt Papa and others.

  1. I’m very happy to find Andrew Peterson’s newest release on Spotify. I think I had the CD once, but was missing it until today! 🙂

Thanks for the post, I’ll check out one or two of the other albums as well 🙂

    • Hi Robert. I’ve really been looking forward to this new recording of BTLOG, having enjoyed the original and seeing the BTLOG tour twice, which I would highly recommend if it comes to your area.
      Blessings, Bill
