10 Devotional Reading Resources for 2023

There are a number of excellent devotional resources to complement your daily Bible reading. Here are several, in no particular order, that I have used, or will use in 2023 in the case of Alistair Begg’s latest devotional book:

Truth for Life: 365 Daily Devotions (A Gospel-Saturated Gift Devotional for the Entire Year) by Alistair Begg
I used this book of daily readings as a part of my devotional reading for 2022.

Truth for Life – Volume 2: 365 Daily Devotions (A Gospel-Saturated Gift Devotional for the Entire Year) by Alistair Begg
I am planning to use Alistair Begg’s new second volume of daily readings as a part of my devotional reading for 2023.

The Word Before Work: A Monday-Through-Friday Devotional to Help You Find Eternal Purpose in Your Daily Work by Jordan Raynor
I started using this new devotional book of short readings by Jordan Raynor when it was published in November, and will use it as a part of my devotional reading for 2023.

The Songs of Jesus: A Year of Daily Devotions in the Psalms by Tim Keller and Kathy Keller
This daily devotional takes you through every verse of the Psalms over 365 days.

God’s Wisdom for Navigating Life: A Year of Daily Devotions in the Book of Proverbs by Tim Keller and Kathy Keller
This daily devotional follows the same format as the Keller’s devotional on the Psalms, using daily readings from the book of Proverbs.

New Morning Mercies: A Daily Gospel Devotional by Paul Tripp
This book of 365 devotional readings introduced me to the writing of Paul Tripp. It is one of my favorite devotional books.

Morning and Evening: A New Edition of the Classic Devotional Based on the Holy Bible, English Standard Version by Charles Spurgeon. Revised and updated by Alistair Begg
Alistair Begg updated some of the language in Charles Spurgeon’s classic Morning and Evening devotional along with using the English Standard Version (ESV) Bible text. This devotional gives you two readings each day.

The Valley of Vision: A Collection of Puritan Prayers & Devotions by Arthur Bennett
This book was compiled by English born minister Arthur Bennett, who loved to study the Puritans. His desire was that the publication of these prayers would help introduce people to the Puritans and their writings.

Everyday Prayers: 365 Days to a Gospel-Centered Faith by Scotty Smith
This book from Scotty Smith includes a prayer for each day of the year. You can also read and sign up to receive Scotty’s daily Heavenward prayers via email here.

Tabletalk Magazine
I have enjoyed Ligonier Ministries Tabletalk magazine’s daily readings for many years. Each year the readings cover a book of the Bible. The readings in 2022 were on the book of Exodus.

What resources do you plan to use in 2023 to supplement your Bible reading?
