As has been my practice for a number of years, I am sharing some of my favorites from 2017 in a variety of categories. I enjoy music in a variety of genres, from worship to rap and hip-hop. Here is a list of my favorite music for 2017:


Top Pick: Trouble No More: The Bootleg Series, Vol. 13 / 1979-1981 (Deluxe Edition) – Bob Dylan.  The deluxe edition of this release features 100 previously unreleased live and studio recordings from Dylan’s “Gospel period”.

Top Pick: U2. U2 gets the nod for top artist for their Joshua Tree reissue, Joshua Tree tour and their new Songs of Experience album. I look forward to seeing them on tour in 2018.

Some of my other favorite books are Don’t Waste Your Life by John Piper, The Holiness of God by R.C. Sproul, The Prodigal Son (originally titled A Tale of Two Sons) by John MacArthur and Crazy Love by Francis Chan. I enjoy Christian hip-hop/rap music, with Lecrae, Trip Lee and Andy Mineo being some of favorite artists.
